Learn more about HPMC Raw Materials: Refined Cotton

What is refined cotton?

Refined cotton is a kind of white cotton fiber that is uniform and loose, free of wood chips, bamboo chips, sediment, oil, metal and other impurities.
Refined cotton has good hydrophilicity and good adsorption, and is widely used in food, medicine, textile and other fields

Where can refined cotton be used?

Refined cotton is non-toxic, odorless and easy to absorb water, and is the main material for the manufacture of ether cellulose (such as HydroxyPropyl Methyl Cellulose (HPMC) Hydroxyethyl Cellulose (HEC) Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose (CMC) nitrocellulose (nitrocellulose) and cellulose acetate,Refined cotton is widely used in food, medicine, daily chemicals, plastics, electronics, papermaking, metallurgy, aerospace and many other fields, and is known as "special industrial monosodium glutamate"
The raw material of refined cotton is natural plant cellulose fiber, which is in line with the consumption concept of green, healthy and environmental protection that people are increasingly advocating. In particular, its thickening and shaping function makes the market prospect of refined cotton products broad. Its indispensable and irreplaceable role is increasingly prominent

What is the prospect of refined cotton market?

Cotton linters are by-products in the cotton production process, and the market for cotton linters is largely related to cotton production. In 2019, the cotton planting area was 3.34 million hectares, and the annual cotton output was 5.89 million tons, while only about 18 tons of cotton linters were produced per 100 tons of cotton.
